Even with eyes half-open people are noticing a shift has occurred on the planet. To use terminology from “The Secret”, your thoughts are manifesting like rapid-fire these days. Simultaneously, accountability is stronger than ever and people aren’t getting away with anything that is not of their highest and truest self. Have you noticed this??
What Are Your Defense Mechanisms?
may not fit you anymore and need to change.
We all have defense mechanisms that we’ve developed over time, often without being aware of it. In times of trouble, the behaviors that have worked to get us past challenges with the least amount of pain are the ones that we repeat; even when part of us knows they no longer work. Such behavior is a natural response from our mental and physical aspects. But because we are spiritual beings as well, we have the ability to rise above habits and patterns to see the truth that lay beyond. And from that moment on, we can make choices that allow us to work directly from that place of truth within us.
Love Actually IS All Around
In December we usually remember what’s most important in our lives. It’s not beating ourselves up over a missed deadline, it’s not feeling insecure time and time again, and it’s not punishing ourselves over a mistake. What’s important is family and love and giving back. The movie “Love Actually” is one I watch every holiday season. It starts off with a bunch of video clips of people reuniting and hugging at the airport. The voiceover is Hugh Grant saying,
“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the twin towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”
What I Am SO Grateful For – Part Two
In my previous post, “What I Am SO Grateful For – Part One” I shared my pre-Thanksgiving amazing journey through the powers of karma and intention. It was amazing! So many WONDERFUL things have happened since then. This post now transitions into what I’m grateful for in general in this time of my life, and why.
This Thanksgiving was by far the best I’ve ever had. For the first time “outsiders” weren’t welcome for our Thanksgiving. We have always opened our home to anyone that we knew that didn’t have a place to go for Thanksgiving. My mom had the idea this year that we would have a “family-only” meal. We were all a little curious about this decision and feeling even a little uneasy. When we all came together on the day, we all bowed down in gratitude for this decision. We got it.
What I Am SO Grateful For – Part One
I’ve been awake about an hour and I’m already filled with an unmatched happiness and peace. I couldn’t do another thing until I told you what I was feeling. The past five days have completely blown me away…
To get started, I must tell you about my pre-Thanksgiving travel experience. A few weeks ago I bought my plane tickets home to Tucson, leaving Wednesday (the 24th) at 9pm and coming back Saturday. I originally got the late Wednesday flight because my aunt was coming in to town and I was going to spend the day with her and my cousin. She got caught in a nasty Utah snow storm and I found out the day before my flight she was not going to be able to travel here – the freeways would shut down.

Today is the book launch date for a friend’s new release, “Heart Broke: From Uncertainty to Possibility”. I am giving away my top-selling product for free to offer support! Christine Monaghan has a powerful story about her journey…
” I was a 42 years old, in phenomenal shape and all set to run a half marathon. My five-year-old business was taking off, and a spicy romance added sparkle to my day. My life was full, thriving and packed with fun. But, within three months and independent of each other, the romance ended, I underwent emergency heart surgery and I closed my beloved business. I call this time in my life ‘The Crumble’. ”
The Crumble created tremendous uncertainty, literally stopping me dead in my tracks. I experienced
a loss of trust in all that I thought was true. Reconnecting with my intuition, I learned to toss out my worn-out perspectives, creating fresh possibilities. This is the story of how I rediscovered how to love my life. “
What People Are Feeling Right Now
The chatter around Facebook has taken a turn in the past week. MANY people are starting to write about change, lost of inspirational quotes and insights about life are swirling around. More comments are being made and it seems that people, now more than ever, are reaching out to their community for support.
You may not find this as fascinating as I do, but I’m sharing it anyway. :) I do like to see what people are talking about on Facebook because it does often give me insights into how I am feeling. For example, last week I was feeling that there was SO much going on, LOTS of change, LOTS of emotion and turmoil. Turns out, EVERYONE was feeling that – ok, lots of people we’ll say. This made me feel that I wasn’t isolated and alone. I realized that many were at that breaking point. This week, people are more optimistic. I just find it interesting to see what’s happening out there – and the “news” only tells me the dark stuff that I don’t want to know about anyway.
