Special Moments in Time
Pauline Victoria Aughe’s Story of Seeing Her Disability as a Gift: From Lost to Found
Every once and while, we come across a person who stops you in your tracks. You become so inspired, filled with hope, feeling love and courage – so many emotions all at the same time. Most often, you do not understand why this person has such a hold on you, but you know you’re forever changed because of the lessons you’ve learned. Pauline Victoria Aughe is such a person. I had the pleasure of meeting her through the publishing company I work with as she is working on a book to be released this year with power-house motivational speaker Les Brown. But she is certainly not relying on that for success – she is well on her way to achieving any and all dreams she can think of. Pauline, thank you for your amazing spirit, courage, love, and pure heart. We ALL look up to you.
And now, Pauline’s story…
Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) – Must Hear Advice From the 90′s
Today’s lesson comes to use from the 90′s by a man name Baz Luhrmann. I don’t even have much of an intro for this post, except I ask for your trust. Take 5 minutes for me and watch the music video below. Listen to the words, let them sink in deep down into your soul and see what comes out at the other end. Just trust me.
All I ask is at the end of this video, scroll to the bottom of the page and make a comment to tell me the key thing you got out of watching this video. Thank you in advance.

Wear Sunscreen…
Wear Sunscreen…
… If I could offer you only one tip for the future,
sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists,
whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience
I will dispense this advice now.
Best-Selling Author Paul Hendricks’ Story of Self-Destruction: From Lost to Found
The story below is from an AMAZING human being, friend and messenger. Paul Hendricks is the epitome of what this site is all about: facing fears, showing up, willing to grow, sharing his past to help people grow into their future. Paul, thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing up for this audience and sharing your wisdom to help those who are wishing they could be where you are today. I value you greatly.
And now, Paul’s story…
“First, I think it’s awesome that you are providing a space for people to share their stories. I wonder what it would have been like as a teenager to have had a place where I could have gone to read about other people’s stories and realized that I wasn’t alone.
Part 3 of 4: What Key Things Did I Learn to Get Me Where I Am Today
This is a continuation of the series on 4 key lessons I learned to help me grow into the person I am today…
The third lesson is I listen to my “messengers”.
There have been so many random people that have crossed my path to tell me something simple that ended by having a huge impact on my day, month, or even life. For instance, on my 21st Birthday my mom took my sister and me to Las Vegas. Most of my birthdays have not turned out very well for some reason, so she wanted me to have the perfect birthday.
Part 2 of 4: What Key Things Did I Learn to Get Me Where I Am Today
This is a continuation of the series on 4 key lessons I learned to help me grow into the person I am today…
The second lesson is I live with the philosophy that good things happen to good people. Bad things happen to good people too, but that’s life. I’m talking about doing good things to sttract even more good things in your life. Otherwise known as Karma.
I was getting groceries one freezing cold night. When I finished placing the grocery bags in the trunk of my car, noticed that a toothbrush I wanted to buy was sitting at the bottom of the cart. My gut instantly told me that the cashier had not charged me for it.
I walked back inside, stood in another line and paid for my toothbrush. She looked at me as if I was an alien and ended up giving me her discount because I was honest enough to come back. Something as simple and random as that makes me feel like I am floating afterward.
Sarah’s Expression of Not Feeling Wanted at Home
Amber, I love you and I think you are such an amazing woman.
My mom isn’t around much and I am always second best to my brother. You always make me feel so wanted. I look up to you so much. You truly are my role model.
I hope I am as strong of a woman as you in 3 years. You have no idea how much I respect you. You’re my new older sister.
Love,
Sarah

Now This is How to Celebrate Your Birthday!
My birthday is this week which made me think back on all the ways I’ve celebrated over the years. I’ve had some pretty incredible moments, but there’s one in particular that stands out as the winner.
Days before my 25th Birthday, I got this idea for a personal way to celebrate my life. I wanted to buy 25 of the brightest and most colorful helium balloons – one for each year of my life. Then I would write my most favorite life memories on some, my hopes for the future on some, and expressions of love an gratitude for people and past moments on the rest. Once finished, I would release all the balloons into the air as a way of releasing the past and unlocking my future.
